Betalean Hp

Betalean Hp

BetaLean HP is made by EAS, one of the larger sports-nutrition companies. The advertising campaign for this product calls it the "next generation in supplementation to support your metabolism and rid yourself of unwanted body fat." Ads also refer to a Precision Release Matrix that supposedly delivers 80% of the active constituents initially and the remainder over the next two hours. How it does this, however, is not specified.

BetaLean HP is your basic ephedrine/caffeine stack with several additional ingredients. While there is no aspirin or willow bark in this formulation, it does contain L-tyrosine, alpha lipoic acid, naringin and Coleus forskohlii.

Like other ephedrine/caffeine products, BetaLean HP works by inducing thermogenesis (the production of heat), which speeds up your metabolism and burns calories. It also has an appetite-suppressing effect, so you feel less hungry and therefore eat less. (For a more detailed discussion of how Betalean Hp works, see Does Betalean Hp Work).

The most powerful component in this supplement is ephedrine. It's long been regarded as a fairly potent thermogenic compound, but it was found to be even more effective when combined with caffeine. It's true that caffeine is also a fairly good thermogenic compound, but it hardly measures up to ephedrine.

When caffeine and ephedrine are combined in fairly specific ratios, the results are synergistic. In other words, the effects of each are greater than the sum of their individual effects. The studies that produced dramatic synergies used a caffeine/ephedrine ratio of 10 to 1. In fact, this ephedrine/caffeine combination produces a synergistic fat-burning effect that is even more effective than the once-popular diet pills Fen-Phen and Redux.

While the exact amount of caffeine in BetaLean HP cannot be determined from the label (the caffeine content of the green tea extract is not specified), it contains approximately the same 10:1 ratio that was utilized in the research studies. While BetaLean HP is safe for most people, if you have a history of heart or thyroid disease or drug abuse, an enlarged prostate or high blood pressure, you should definitely check with your doctor before you take this product.
